The Monday Memo

Hello, faithful readers! Today is Monday, November 13, 2023, and here are the topics that I am providing commentary about today:

  • Ethics Complaint
  • Slow Process Of Results
  • Jumbo Bag of Fun

ETHICS COMPLAINT:

In case you missed it, the City of Great Falls Ethics Committee will hold a meeting TODAY (Nov. 13) at 10:00 a.m. in the City Commission chambers. One of the items is the “Hearing of Ethics Complaint against Commissioner Rick Tryon filed by Jasmine Taylor.”

You can read about the ethics complaint by clicking on the “Agenda Packet” on the calendar notice. It starts on page 22 and ends on page 154. It’s interesting. The Western Word is even mentioned in the complaint. It’s my blog post where I called Sheriff Slaughter, who was in his first term as Sheriff, a rookie sheriff, and Tryon came to his rescue. I’ve had issues with Tryon long before that. I actually voted for him once, and then I found out he was a MAGA.

I’m sure Tryon will spin this ethics complaint and be a martyr like his mentor Donald Trump spins the indictments or the impeachments. Trump has said over and over in one form or the other, “In the end, they’re not coming after me. They’re coming after you — and I’m just standing in their way,”

I doubt anything is done with the ethics complaint. At least it did waste some of his time.

SLOW PROCESS OF RESULTS:

I saw that the local ABC/FOX News Station got to the bottom of the reason why Cascade County released the municipal general election results so late at 1:32 a.m.

Cascade County Elections Administrator, Sandra Merchant was quoted in the article about the delay in releasing the results, “I think the biggest one was when the printer ran out of toner and it was time to print the results that it did not help and that slowed it down.”

Merchant’s team at the election office is not performing well. The ballots should have been counted by 10:00 p.m. There were only about 15,000. I do not trust Merchant and her team. The county commissioners need to remedy this situation quickly.

JUMBO BAG OF FUN:

It’s great that Halloween candy is on sale in the stores. The other day, I purchased a “jumbo bag” of “fun size” Snickers candy bars because I am the type of person who wants to go big or go home. I figured I could use some fun and would need a jumbo bag to do it.

On the nutrition label, I noticed there were about 31 fun-size bars per bag, and each fun-size bar was 80 calories, If my calculation is correct, the bag has about 2,480 calories.

By the way, I did have a lot of fun.

## HAVE A GREAT WEEK ##

  1. Tryon doesn’t have to spin if the complaint is crapola from a vile human. But if the goal was to waste his time & others’ then I guess the mission was accomplished.
