MUNICIPAL GENERAL ELECTION:

Today we vote!

From the Cascade County Elections Office website:

The Municipal General Election will be held on November 7th as a Mail Ballot Election. Ballots can be dropped at the Cascade County Elections Office, 325 2nd Ave. N, Great Falls from 8am-5pm through November 6th, and 7am-8pm on Election Day, November 7th, in the drop box inside the front doors on 2nd Avenue or in the office (Suite 100).

Is this a great country or what?

BEN ALKE FOR MT AG:

I was notified that Ben Alke is running for Montana Attorney General. On his website, Alke states:

The Attorney General plays a special role protecting Montanans and our way of life. The Attorney General must impartially enforce the law, administer the Montana Highway Patrol, and support local prosecutors and law enforcement officers. There is no room for political considerations in those endeavors. Decisions made by the Attorney General must be based on the facts and the law – and nothing else.

He also states:

Montanans rely on the Attorney General to uphold the Montana Constitution and defend our freedom. Our constitutional rights protect us from Government overreach by establishing the limits of the Government’s power. The Government cannot tell us how to live our lives or invade our privacy. The Montana Department of Justice is not a weapon to be used for political purposes or to undermine our court system.

I did not see anywhere on his website that he said he would file suit against the Biden administration every week….

FOOTBALL ROUNDUP:

I had a decent week in the Pigskin Pick contests. I went 7-3 in college and 10-4 in the NFL.

The Montana Grizzlies (5-1/8-1) are at the top of the Big Sky Football standings with Idaho (5-1/7-2) and Montana State (5-1/7-2) next. (Source) There are two weeks left in the regular season. Montana State plays Montana in Missoula on November 18. This could be for the Big Sky title.

Montana is ranked third in the FCS Coaches poll with Idaho and Montana State ranked fourth and fifth. (Source)

In big-time college football, my #12 Missouri Tigers lost to #2 Georgia 30-21. This week Mizzou hosts #17 Tennessee. Other big games I am looking forward to are Michigan and Penn State, Utah and Washington, and Ole Miss and Georgia.

In the NFL, my Kansas City Chiefs (7-2) are back on the winning track with a 21-14 victory over the Miami Dolphins. The game was played in Germany. The Chiefs have a bye week and then host the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football November 20. I think the Eagles are the best team in the NFL now, so this will be a big test for the Chiefs. The Chiefs beat the Eagles in the last Super Bowl.

The Baltimore Ravens are playing really well, so they will be a force in the last weeks of the season. The Detroit Lions are playing some good football and are probably the second-best team in the NFC right now.
