TWW COMMENTS:
Apparently, there was a glitch or change in the comments section of WordPress, the host of The Western Word (TWW).
I did not change anything and have been checking on it over the past 24 hours.
Here are some instructions that may help:
When you get to the “What do you think?” section you can still give your comments. It will ask you to log in to leave a reply. That does not mean you need an account. You can select WordPress, Facebook, or the Envelope. Clicking on the “Envelope” will enable you to list your name if you want and your email address. Your email won’t be published.
After you write your comment, you can select if you want to get new posts or new comments. You can then click “Reply” and I will get an email letting me know there’s a comment waiting for approval. If the “Reply” button is not visible, you can put your cursor back in the section where you left your comment, and the “Reply” button should be visible.
I hope this helps! If you have problems, please email me at Western_Word@Yahoo.com.
IN YOUR LETTER:
I happened to catch a September 23 blog post on E-City Beat about a letter sent from the Great Falls Public Schools to the Cascade County Commissioners that, in part, said: “We are writing on behalf of Great Falls Public Schools to formally request the duties of Cascade County Elections Office be transferred to the jurisdiction of the Cascade County Commissioners.”
The local news website, “The Electric” has a September 25 story about the issue and reports that the Great Falls Public School District made the request in a letter that was signed by Superintendent Tom Moore, GFPS business operations manager Brian Patrick, and chairman of the school board Gordon Johnson.
The letter to the County Commissioners is dated September 1, 2023. In the letter they say, “This request is made due to the numerous issues and concerns that have arisen in recent elections, particularly the Great Falls Public Schools trustee election held in May of 2023,”
It appears that there has been a lack of communication between the Cascade County Elections office and the Great Falls Public Schools.
I am very concerned about the integrity of the elections in Cascade County since the new clerk and recorder, Sandra Merchant, and her crew took over. Anyone who votes should be, too.
You can find the article from The Electric HERE.
SOUTHERN BORDER:
CBS News is reporting that migrant crossings along the border are rising, surpassing 8,600 over a 24-hour period this week, according to a Department of Homeland Security official. It is up from around 3,500 daily border arrests after the expiration in May of Title 42 triggered new consequences for those who cross the border illegally. There were more than 8,000 apprehensions on Monday.
CBS News is also reporting that the US Department of Defense is ramping up resources at the US-Mexico border, sending at least 800 new active-duty personnel to the border, where 2,500 National Guard members are already servicing.
The DoD using active duty and Guard personnel is the right move in my opinion. Maybe a wall would help. This problem needs to be handled.

MEGYN ATTACKS TRAVIS:
Conservative pundit Megyn Kelly attacked Kansas City Chiefs football player Travis Kelce, not because he is dating Taylor Swift, but for promoting flu and COVID vaccines in a commercial that is airing across the USA.
Forbes reported that Kelce’s participation in the ad drew quick scrutiny from right-wing social media users and vaccine skeptics.
I feel sorry for Megyn Kelly. She is trying very hard to stay relevant.
By the way, I received my flu shot and my updated COVID booster last week.
ONE MORE THING:
Maybe someday we will find that it wasn’t really wasted time…

I find it very interesting that the school district seems to be the only governmental body in this town willing to take head on the kooks in the election office. I’m sure they will be greatly demonized by the MAGAs, but then they already are. Public education, or gummint education as they call it, is the devil’s own handiwork good for nothing but grooming our children into becoming deviant sexual beings, or worse yet critical thinking intelligent adults! Not to worry though. Trump has said if elected, his very first act would be to eliminate the Dept. of Education.
It will be interesting to see how this all works. Maybe Ms. Merchant will let the word go forth that commies have taken over our school district. With her nationwide network of kooks, that should bring at least a hundred armed, slobbering, flatulent proud boys to our school board meetings!
It’s a real shame that our county commissioners, really our last line of defense in this kook war, doesn’t have the balls to do what the what the teachers have done. The Ed folks are doing it out of necessity to preserve fair elections, thereby protecting our kids. And for that they should be praised for leading the way. As Wm. Wallace said, people follow courage. Now will see if Joe and the boys will act or be shamed by a bunch of educators!
