CHECKS IN THE MAIL…
Several sources, like MTN News, are reporting that all Montana property tax rebates will be sent by paper check in the mail beginning on Thursday, Aug. 24, 2023. The Montana Department of Revenue (DOR) announced it has removed the option for people to receive the property tax rebate by direct deposit in an effort to reduce the risk of fraud by scammers.
Is this a great country or what?

A PICTURE & “THEY”
The Associated Press (AP) is reporting that for former President Donald Trump, a picture is worth … more than $7 million. Trump’s campaign says he has raised $7.1 million since Thursday when he was booked at the Fulton County Jail in Georgia on charges that he illegally schemed to overturn the 2020 election in the state and became the first former president in U.S. history to ever have a mug shot taken.
That is an impressive haul!
What amazes me is how many MAGA people are so gullible to think that Trump did nothing wrong and is still sending him money.
One of the local MAGA folks, Great Falls City Commissioner Rick Tryon, contends:
They are using the phrase “No one is above the law…” as a cover story and excuse to punish their political enemies, extract revenge, and to send the clear message that THEY will decide who is allowed to occupy the White House, not the American people.
This is the biggest and longest running political smear campaign in our history and the truly disgusting thing about it is they don’t even care that we see right through it. They’re laughing at us.”
It appears that the Commish thinks Trump won the last election. I wonder if anyone has asked him who won the last Presidential election in the city commissioner forums. Tryon is running for reelection. I think our city can do better than reelecting Tryon.
Sadly, the “they” angle will probably work for Tryon as there are many MAGA folks in Great Falls who are gullible enough to believe his hogwash.
HEIGHT, WEIGHT, HAIR COLOR:
I have been enjoying the comments about former President Donald Trump pre-reporting his height and weight before he surrendered to authorities in Georgia last week.
The New York Post reported that Trump lost 25 pounds — and gained an inch of height — since April, according to jail records filed Thursday after he surrendered to Fulton County authorities on charges related to his alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia. The 77-year-old’s measurements, which were pre-reported, according to ABC News, indicate that Trump is 215 pounds with a height of 6 feet 3 inches — 25 pounds lighter and 1 inch taller than when he was booked in Manhattan in April.
Some folks made comparisons to NFL players. Former Broncos QB John Elway is 6’3” and 215 lbs. Former Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald is listed as 6’3″ and 218 lbs.
Trump also listed his hair color as “blond or strawberry.”
Ironically, I am also 6’3” and 215 lbs. What are the chances of that…

I saw that about the $7M trumpsky mulcted from supporters. With the ideal of American entrepreneurship as a beacon, I thought I might be able to cash in on this bonanza, too. I found a local (not Chinese) t-shirt supplier, bent over and took a dramatic selfie to imprint on the shirts. I figure I can undercut trumpsky’s gouging by a few bucks and still rake in a pile of cash from the MAGA’ts who won’t be able to tell them apart. Maybe even a special discount for those who don’t believe Kevin McCarthy was dropped on his head as an infant.
What’s truly sad is that a law-and-order guy like Tryon thinks none of the things Trump is accused of in all four cases are crimes. Including a multi-state conspiracy to overturn an American presidential election, up to and including volence at the Capitol, in an effort aimed at, as Rick puts it, “THEY will decide who is allowed to occupy the White House, not the American people.”
In Tryon’s ‘s world apparently consequences for crimes apply only to homeless people and those garage burglars he cites as a reason for the public safety levy.

Rick is right on one point. We are laughing at the MAGAs because of their stupidity. Anyone dumb enough to believe that Trump won, and that there are litter boxes in schools, is dumber than cat chit!
