TWO AND A HALF YEARS:
In a press release, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Montana, says that a Kalispell man, Kevin Patrick Smith, 46, who admitted to threatening to kill Montana U.S. Senator Jon Tester in calls to his office was sentenced to two and a half years in prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release.
Smith pleaded guilty in April to threats to murder a United States Senator. U.S. District Judge Dana L. Christensen presided.
We can’t allow people to threaten our elected officials and their staffers. We have to draw the line and I think and hope this sentence will act as a deterrent and prevent other nutjobs from threatening our elected officials.

MORE HATE IN GREAT FALLS:
Over at the WTF406.com blog, they are reporting that mere days after celebrating beautiful new murals in downtown Great Falls, residents and business owners awoke to find a very different addition to the scenery. Over the weekend, White Lives Matter plastered an estimated 200 stickers throughout town. Stop signs, traffic lights, and even art installments were vandalized with racist propaganda.
This is terrible and it has no place in Great Falls.

DEVIL WENT DOWN TO GEORGIA:
It’s the mug shot that is historical – former President Donald J. Trump turned himself in to authorities Thursday evening in Georgia and this is the first of four indictments where he had his mug shot taken.
While the mug shot is historical, it will also be a great item for the Trump campaign to use to raise money.
The spectacle was covered by cable news. Trump’s motorcade from the airport in Atlanta to the county jail and back was large. Not long after the event was over, Trump posted his own mug shot on X (formerly Twitter), and has received over 104 million views. He added the following words to his post, “Election Interference. Never Surrender. DonaldJTrump.com.”

I had a good chuckle from one of the cable news commentators who stated that POTUS 45’s mugshot would be appearing on t-shirts, coffee mugs, and toilet paper.

I am currently reading an excellent book entitled American Idolatry by Andrew Whitehead. It is a scholarly writing which differentiates between Christian patriotism and white Christian nationalism. I highly recommend it.

The racist Nazis share much in common with the christofascists, only the christofascists blur their racism with religion. Look closely at many of our so called religious people in our legislature who attend extreme right wing functions. They give tacit approval the sticker plasterers. And one of our local kooks will probably say it’s just free speech again! MAGA!

There’s a couple of our local state-level legislators I personally would suspect of being among the ones putting this stuff up.
With 200 of these stickers applied in various places, there has to be some video. Maybe even city of GF video. Will our police department and commission do anything?
