Congrats! We made it to Friday, faithful readers! Today is Friday, August 4, 2023, and here are the topics that caught my eye:
- Miles City United Christian Church
- Trump Pleads Not Guilty (Again)
- One More Thing
MILES CITY UNITED CHRISTIAN CHURCH:
There’s another black mark on Montana, this time in Miles City where MTN News reports that vandals placed a message on a sign and ripped a Pride flag at the United Christian Church.
According to the report, the message from the Bible was Leviticus 20:13:
“It was Leviticus 20:13,” said Rev. Amber Richardson, which taken out of context can be used to say that gay men should be put to death and that their blood is on their hands.
The church took down that sign and put up another Bible verse.
“Love your neighbor, no matter what,” Richardson said.
Good for the church.

TRUMP PLEADS NOT GUILTY (AGAIN):
I’m losing count – I think this is the third time former President Donald Trump has been indicted. He has been impeached twice. This is quite a record! I believe he will be indicted a fourth time, for possible election tampering in Georgia, and that may be the one that sticks.
The really wacky part of the whole Trump deal is a recent CNN poll that found 69% of Republicans and Republican-leaners say Biden’s win was not legitimate, up from 63% earlier this year and through last fall, even as there is no evidence of election fraud that would have altered the outcome of the contest.
I posted a quote yesterday that really fits the Trump supporters:
“Never again should anyone have to be amazed at how Jim Jones got his followers to drink the poison.” -Unknown
Lee Newspapers kind of did a follow-up to what I wrote about earlier this week reporting that U.S. Senator Steve Daines and U.S. Representative Matt Rosendale were being “quick to dismiss an indictment accusing Donald Trump of attempting to overturn the 2020 presidential election.”
They believe these indictments are orchestrated by President Joe Biden to hurt Trump, and his campaign for President. Those talking points are selling well in GOP circles.
As for Trump, he played the victim after his third indictment. The Associated Press (AP) reported that Trump said it was a “very sad day for America” and also said, “This is a persecution of a political opponent” according to Reuters.
