Hello faithful readers! It’s Thursday, July 20, and here are the topics I will be providing commentary about today:
- Trump & Rosendale
- Tester’s Calendar
- Powerball Lottery
TRUMP & ROSENDALE:
With the record former President Donald Trump had in the 2022 election regarding candidates he endorsed, it might be a good thing for possible U.S. Senate candidate and current U.S. Representative Matt Rosendale that Trump has declined to endorse him if he runs for U.S. Senate.
CNN is reporting that Donald Trump recently delivered the news to Rep. Matt Rosendale: He wouldn’t win the former president’s coveted endorsement if he runs in the GOP primary for the US Senate seat in Montana, according to a Trump ally, a decision with major implications in the high-stakes battle for control of the Senate.
Of course, I have not seen Trump’s endorsement of Tim Sheehy, who is the party insider’s favorite to run against Tester.
Trump and his family spent most of the 2018 campaign season visiting Montana trying to help Rosendale beat U.S. Senator Jon Tester. They failed.
I liked it when elected officials did not endorse candidates in the primaries. With U.S. Senator Steve Daines, Governor Greg Gianforte, and U.S. Representative Ryan Zinke all endorsing Sheehy and basically telling Rosendale to F-off, there’s a chance that the Montana Republican Party will have a civil war in 2024 if Rosendale runs for U.S. Senate.

TESTER’S CALENDAR:
I happened to catch a story in Politico about U.S. Senator Jon Tester (D-MT) that claims he didn’t disclose a meeting last October on his public calendar at a Boeing facility in Arizona that was attended by a registered lobbyist for the company, despite his promise to post details of his public schedule.
Politico devoted about 600 words to this story. I read it twice and was wondering what the “big deal” was.
The first thought I had was the “public schedule” angle of the story. The Tester campaign promise to post his public schedule is nothing but a gimmick in my opinion. I checked his schedule today for the first time in probably 10 years and the last date on it was July 18. Today is July 20. I know there are security concerns, but I think people want to know where he will be, not where he was. Plus, many people don’t understand the difference between his official senate schedule and his campaign schedule. His senate.gov website (taxpayer funded) can’t list campaign events.
The fact that Tester met with a registered lobbyist is nothing new. That’s what they do. Yawn.
So, with Politico and the Tester haters being all over this story, I would like to add that, in my humble opinion, it’s a nothingburger.

POWERBALL LOTTERY:
It was fun to dream…
In case you missed it, the Associated Press is reporting that a winning ticket has been sold in California for the Powerball jackpot worth an estimated $1.08 billion, the sixth largest in U.S. history and the third largest in the history of the game.
I would like to share my exciting news, too. I ended up winning a total of $8 last night in the lotteries. I would ask for privacy as I decide how I will proceed with my life after this win.

I’m not sure why the GOPers are so gung-ho on unknown Tim Sheey, other than the size of his bank account. https://mooreonmontana.com/2023/07/18/golden-boy/
Probably also because he isn’t the thoroughly dislikeable extremist and proven loser against Tester, Matt Rosendale.
Montana’s Rosendale voters must feel odd today that they elected the only far right whackadoodle in the whole damn country that their god Donald Trump will not endorse. And after Matt has been such a loyal lapdog, too.
