MY VIEW – THE TRUMP ARRAIGNMENT:

The biggest issue I have with former President Donald Trump being arraigned today in Miami at the Federal Court is if the coverage on CBS will pre-empt my soap opera at 11:00 a.m. (Mountain time). I watch “The Young and the Restless” during that time and Faith has been kidnapped and Phyllis is in hiding. These are big issues. I don’t think CBS will pre-empt the show, but this is like the coverage of the Super Bowl – they could have five hours of “pre-game.” Trump will appear at the courthouse around 3:00 p.m. Eastern time.

I’ve found the coverage of the Trump indictment amusing. I’ve watched the coverage on most cable news networks, and they are running the coverage into the ground. It’s not going to be that interesting. Cameras are not allowed in the courtroom. Trump will arrive. He will be taken into custody by U.S. Marshals. He may be fingerprinted and have his mugshot taken. He might be handcuffed. He will face the judge and plead not guilty. He will leave. He is due to attend a birthday fundraiser in New Jersey later tonight. By the way, tomorrow (Wednesday) is Trump’s 77th birthday.

Trump is too old to be President. Yes, so is Biden.

37 counts are facing Trump and reports say 31 of those are related to the willful retention of national defense information. (Source)

You can read the complete indictment HERE.

Another thing that I found amusing is how sensitive the MAGA folks are about this. They are throwing all types of accusations at the Justice Department, even bringing up Hillary Clinton, Hunter Biden, and Joe Biden. If Trump could have nailed Hillary Clinton, he would have. He had four years. As for the Bidens, the MAGA folks are throwing crap at the wall to see if anything sticks. It’s sad, but our political climate is in the “gotcha” stage. It’s been that way for a while. Can we survive it?

THE FLAG:

Before I comment about the latest U.S. Flag issue, this is a friendly reminder from one patriot (me) to another (my faithful readers) that Wednesday, June 14 (tomorrow) is Flag Day. I will fly my flag proudly. I hope you will, too. God bless America!

Now on to my main subject…

The MAGA folks have their panties in a wad over the display of the Pride Flag between the two U.S. Flags at the White House this week. You can see a photo HERE. Some folks accused the White House of violating federal guidelines governing American flags.

The Flag Code states: (e)The flag of the United States of America should be at the center and at the highest point of the group when a number of flags of States or localities or pennants of societies are grouped and displayed from staffs.

But, the U.S. Flag was not being flown from a staff, so there goes that argument.

Even if the MAGA folks want to stay with the argument, in the photo I linked to above, a U.S. Flag is flying on the top of the White House which makes it higher than the Pride Flag.

Then there’s this. In 4 U.S. Code § 10 there’s another reason why the MAGA crying was wrong:

Any rule or custom pertaining to the display of the flag of the United States of America, set forth herein, may be altered, modified, or repealed, or additional rules with respect thereto may be prescribed, by the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the United States, whenever he deems it to be appropriate or desirable; and any such alteration or additional rule shall be set forth in a proclamation. Face it, those bitching and making fools of themselves about the flag are only doing so because they hate LGBTQ+ people and Biden.

TRANSGENDER ATHLETES:

The transgender issue is interesting to me. I believe that you have the right to be you, and parents/guardians have the right to help their children be whatever they want to be. I really am not bothered by any of this. I’ll be me and you be you. I hope you will accept me, and I will accept you.

Gallup recently released a poll about transgender athletes. Here is the main point:

A larger majority of Americans now (69%) than in 2021 (62%) say transgender athletes should only be allowed to compete on sports teams that conform with their birth gender. Likewise, fewer endorse transgender athletes being able to play on teams that match their current gender identity, 26%, down from 34%.

The survey also found:

The survey also asked about Americans’ more general views on being transgender. A majority, 55%, consider “changing one’s gender” to be more “morally wrong,” while 43% say it is “morally acceptable.”

So, faithful readers, what is the answer to this issue?

ONE MORE THING:

If you are more angry about a pride flag being put on the White House than about insurrectionists literally smearing shit on the walls of Congress while waving a treasonous flag … You are the problem.@davidhogg111

  1. A thought crossed my mind (happens seldom, but welcome when it does). The prosecution might consider offering Trumpsky a deal. Plead guilty and get life in Guantanamo, or plead not guilty and take his chances with the death penalty for treason..

    • Trump will play the martyr role to the end. If he is found guilty, he will urge his people to riot. It’s all about him. He could care less about the USA.
      Thanks, JMB

  2. Let’s see……there should be a crowd outside the courthouse in Miami, carrying big signs with misspelled rants, wearing stupid hats made in China, and shouting, “String ‘im up!!”

That’s how it’s supposed to happen, right?

  3. In my opinion, it’s a shame that transgendered people are being chosen as the target for marginalization just now. Nikki Haley says it’s her primary concern in the upcoming election campaign – yet how many transgendered youth want to participate in sports? I’ve heard reports that the number is well under 200 nationwide! This just makes no sense to me. The government has no business telling parents how to raise their kids, yet the GOP (the party of small government!) is wanting to stick its nose into just that!
