Once you have seen a woman take off her bra without removing her shirt, it makes more sense why they should be in charge of things. – Unknown
Today’s independent commentary deals with these issues:

- Congress Approval

Montana Secretary of State:
I got a chuckle out of hearing about the Montana Secretary of State’s office mailing out an addendum to the voter information pamphlet. (AP)
Then I saw that it was costing Montana taxpayers a little over $265,000. I stopped chuckling.
This is a very serious mistake under the leadership of Secretary of State Corey Stapleton.
This is 2018, so I think it is past time to stop mailing voter information pamphlets. Advertise the fact that voters can get one mailed to them if they contact the SoS office, and let people know they are available online.
The state might save a few thousand dollars.
Trump in Missoula:
In case you were wondering about attending President Trump’s MAGA Rally in Missoula on Thursday, October 18, you can get the details and tickets by going to the President’s campaign site HERE.
The event begins at 6:30 p.m., and is being held at Neptune Aviation Services
(Hangar #6). The address is 1 Corporate Way, Missoula, MT, 59808. Doors open at 3:30 p.m.
Ya ‘all have fun…
Trump on 60 Minutes:
President Donald J. Trump did his first 60 Minutes interview since taking office. You can read the transcript HERE.
One point the President made during the interview what was his biggest surprise since taking office:
President Donald Trump: Okay. So I always used to say the toughest people are Manhattan real estate guys and blah, blah. Now I say they’re babies.
Lesley Stahl: Who’s the toughest?
President Donald Trump: They’re babies, the political people. This is the most deceptive, vicious world. It is vicious, it’s full of lies, deceit and deception. You make a deal with somebody and it’s like making a deal with– that table.
I wonder if he thinks he has anything to do with this “vicious world.”
The Boston Globe is reporting that Senator Elizabeth Warren has released a DNA test that provides “strong evidence’’ she had a Native American in her family tree dating back 6 to 10 generations, an unprecedented move by one of the top possible contenders for the 2020 Democratic nomination for president.
Interesting. My DNA tests showed I was part Irish and Scottish and an all-around nice person…
Gallup Polling is reporting that with less than a month to go until the midterm elections, Gallup finds 21% of U.S. adults approving and 73% disapproving of the way Congress is handling its job. The poll was conducted Oct. 1-10, as the Senate debated about and — ultimately, on Oct. 6 — confirmed Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court by nearly a party-line vote.
I don’t see the approval ratings changing that much in the future. Read the full report from Gallup HERE.
