I had a friend who was a clown. When he died, all his friends went to the funeral in one car. – Steven Wright
Welcome to Terrific News Tuesday (TNT)!
In case this is your first time reading TNT, this column is all about good news. I know it’s hard to believe, but I won’t be complaining or criticizing anyone or anything in this column today – just writing about some terrific news that caught my attention!
Here is some of the good stuff in this edition of TNT:
- Russell Live Auction
- Montana’s Farms & Ranches
- My Neighbor In Need
- Stephen Hawking
- Sweet 16
- Tom Brady’s Jersey
Russell Live Auction:
Last week was Western Art Week in Great Falls and the Russell Live Auction took in $4,350,300. (GF Tribune)
Congratulations to all those who make this week a success.
Montana’s Farms & Ranches:
The Billings Gazette has posted a slideshow titled, “Beautiful photos of Montana’s farms and ranches” that you should see. Click HERE to view.
My Neighbor In Need:
Congratulations to “My Neighbor in Need” in Great Falls for five years of helping people. Since launching, ‘My Neighbor In Need’ has performed more than 8,000 “need” fulfillments. (KRTV)
This is a great program that does a lot of good in our community.
In a recent interview, physicist, cosmologist, and author Stephen Hawking told Good Morning Britain that he was going into space aboard Richard Branson’s spaceflight company, Virgin Galactic. (Independent)
That is so cool – I’m happy for him.
It’s always good to see a lower seeded team make it far into the NCAA Tournament. The Sweet 16 teams are set and No. 11 seed Xavier is the lowest seed left in the tournament.
Watch out for Xavier and No. 7 seed Michigan – they seem to be getting hot at the right time! No. 8 Wisconsin and No. 7 South Carolina are going to be tough to deal with, too.
Tom Brady’s Jersey:
The long national nightmare is over. According to the Associated Press:
The NFL says it (the jersey) was in “possession of a credentialed member of the international media.” Houston police Chief Art Acevedo tweeted Monday that it was found in Mexico.
The NFL says the jersey was found through the “cooperation of the NFL and New England Patriots’ security teams, the FBI and other law enforcement authorities.” The league referred other questions to the FBI.
I hope they get it back before the wall goes up…
