Happy New Year and welcome to Terrific News Tuesday (TNT)!
In case this is your first time reading TNT, this column is all about good news. I know it’s hard to believe, but I won’t be complaining or criticizing anyone or anything in this column today – just writing about some terrific news that caught my attention!
Here is some of the good stuff in this edition of TNT:
- Montana Legislature
- Refugees
- Yellowstone County
- Montana Highway Deaths
- Montana Millionaire
Montana Legislature:
The 90-day Montana legislature kicked off Monday! (GF Tribune) Here at The Western Word I am pretty tough on the state legislators, but I respect and admire their willingness to serve. So good luck this session and thank each of you for serving!
Montana is counting on you.
Refugees:
Forty-six women, men and children from war-torn lands in Africa and Iraq found new homes in Missoula in the final five months of 2016. (Missoulian)
Good job Missoula – and thanks to all those involved!
Yellowstone County:
For the first time in five years, there were no murders in Yellowstone County, Montana, during 2016. (Billings Gazette)
This is wonderful news!
Montana Highway Deaths:
One hundred eighty-five people have died on Montana’s roadways in 2016, a 13 percent drop from this time last year. (Flathead Beacon)
Let’s hope the trend continues – buckle up and don’t drink and drive!
Montana Millionaire:
The good news is that the Montana Millionaire winning ticket was sold in Great Falls. (MTN)
I am not the owner of the ticket…
