Lee Newspapers published two stories Monday citing a Congressional Quarterly report on the voting records of members of congress, including U.S. Representative Steve Daines, U.S. Senator Jon Tester, and former U.S. Senator Max Baucus.

Lee Newspapers reported “Daines opposed the president 87 percent of the time” and “Tester supported the president 96 percent of the time and Baucus 95 percent.”
Tester and Daines both lean to the extreme sides:

That roar you hear is from the Montana Tea Party folks cheering about this record that Daines set. Daines called his votes “pragmatic” and Tester said, “I carefully consider every vote.”
Of course, both Daines and Tester used their talking points perfectly saying something like it’s all about what is right for Montana, not the political party, blah, blah, blah…
Some people commented about the story after I tweeted the links. Probably the one that scared me most was from Mike Jopek (@mikejopek) who responded with, “Daines votes like Bachmann 89 percent of time votes say.”
Sweet mother of…
