Do As I Say, Not As I Do…

I almost snorted my Saturday morning coffee out my nose when I read in the Great Falls Tribune about Great Falls (MT) Mayor Michael Winters having his photo snapped as he was operating a motor vehicle while talking on his cellphone.

That is a violation of a city ordinance which Winters himself advocated and supported with his vote on the city commission.

Winters should have told the Tribune, “Busted! I was wrong and I shouldn’t have answered the phone until I pulled over.”

But as citizens of Great Falls have found out, that is not Mayor Winters’ method of operation.

Winters went on the attack saying, it “was a ‘pretty crummy’ attempt by local critics to hurt him in Tuesday’s municipal general election.” He also said it was “unfair.”

Then he gave the “local critics” more ammo.

According to the Tribune, the Mayor called the photographer a “hypocrite” and then said she was probably “not wearing a seatbelt” and had an “unrestrained dog” in the car.

You stay classy Michael Winters.
