A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

A person I follow on Twitter posted a tweet saying that the Westboro Baptist Church, the group that runs the God Hates Fags website is coming to Bozeman, Montana. This is the group that has protested at military funerals while holding up signs that read, “Thank God for Dead Soldiers” and “Thank God for IEDs.”

The group plans to picket Montana State University and then Bozeman High School on September 9 “to put the attention on the words of God and the Bible” about “same sex marriage” and “to tell these students the Gospel truth.”

While I am all for talking about the Bible and God, the extreme angle the folks from Westboro Baptist Church take in doing this is wrong. Most of it is hate.  

So I pray they cancel their trip – I pray that something stands in their way of making it to Bozeman on September 9 – I pray that their trip and future trips to picket and to spew their hatred fails.  I pray that they open their eyes and see that what they are doing is wrong.
