The Sunday Message

“Prayer is simply a two-way conversation between you and God.” -Billy Graham

I remember as a child watching the Billy Graham Crusade on a local television station (we only received three stations). I would sit on the floor and listen closely to what Reverend Graham had to say. It seemed before you knew it, the song “Just As I Am” would be playing, people would be walking forward to get prayer and ask God to come into their lives, and then the show would end.

I think my dad liked to watch Billy Graham on television because he knew that the whole thing would be over in an hour – plus he did not need to get dressed in his Sunday best to watch the show on TV.

Today it’s even easier to connect with God – and you still do not need to get dressed up to do it! You can read the Bible on the internet. I have a copy on my Blackberry that I access and follow a Bible reading program so that I read the whole Bible every year. I also subscribe to a Bible “verse of the day” website and I also receive a “daily devotional” via e-mail that I read. There are still sermons every week on television – plus many are on the internet.

But the most important thing we can do is pray. Prayer is not hard – I look at it as a conversation with my friend. Billy Graham said it best when he said, “Prayer is simply a two-way conversation between you and God.”

You don’t really need to get mired down with details – just start talking with God about things – life, health, family, being thankful, and your problems.

You will be amazed at how much better you feel…

Have a great week!
