We’ve probably all heard about programs to raise breast cancer awareness. Some folks wear pink and even the National Football League got into the act by having players, coaches and stadiums decked out in pink to raise breast cancer awareness.
According to this story, a group called LifeWay Christian Resources was even selling pink Bibles “with a dollar per copy going to the Dallas-based Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation” until someone discovered that some of the charity’s funds went to Planned Parenthood. LifeWay pulled the Bibles.
Give me a break….
No two words will raise the anger of pro-lifers more than Planned Parenthood – which some want to portray as nothing but an abortion factory. Planned Parenthood provides vital services for low income people, like mammograms. With our economy in such bad shape, more people may be using the services of health centers like Planned Parenthood.
Frankly, I’ve grown tired of the pro-life movement over the years. I’ve also grown tired of the politics surrounding abortion (on both sides) – where some crusty old men in Congress or in a state legislature try to change or chip away at the 1973 Supreme Court decision.
So, shame on LifeWay Christian Resources for pulling the pink Bibles.
