Compromise

Gallup recently released a poll in which our elected officials in Washington should note the results:  “Two-thirds of Americans would like government officials to agree to a compromise plan on the debt and budget deficit negotiations now underway.”

In terms even a Washington politician should understand: We’re growing a little tired of the drama.

In the poll, 72% of the all-important independents said members of Congress should “agree to compromise plan, even if it is a plan you disagree with.”

In other words, most folks want members of Congress to compromise.

Americans don’t think very highly of members of Congress.  Another recent poll told us the Democrats have a 33% approval rating and Republicans have a 28% approval rating.  Obama comes in at 45%.

None of these approval ratings beg for two, four or six more years…

Although we are stuck with these folks until the next election, here’s hoping they yield to the famous words of Larry the Cable Guy and “Git-R-Done!”
