According to a poll paid for by Lee Newspapers, Governor Brian Schweitzer is the most loved Montana politician. OK, maybe not the most loved, but he does have the best job approval rating among top statewide officeholders. You can read the story HERE.
Republicans have spent about eight years trying to beat Schweitzer, but now it looks like he will finish his term as Governor on a high note. What’s next for the Flim Flam man?
Maybe he should consider running against Montana’s Max – that’s Max Baucus to you out of state folks. Baucus is ranked dead last – behind President Obama in the job approval rating game. Great googly moogly…
Besides being the “architect” of the healthcare bill (that he did not read) and recommending his girlfriend (and former state director) to a presidential appointee position, to not owning a home in Montana for several years, Baucus has really racked up some negative thoughts from Montanans.
It may not be too long before some of the Republicans in the Montana legislature ask for Max’s birth certificate…
Here’s the scorecard:
Governor Brian Schweitzer: 60%
Senator Jon Tester: 50%
Congressman Denny Rehberg: 48%
President Barack Obama: 40%
Senator Max Baucus: 38%
There are probably several people thinking about running for the open seat for U.S. Senate in 2014 if Baucus decides to retire or to take him on in a primary. On the GOP side, if the current Senate, House and Governor candidates falter in 2012, they would be prime contenders for U.S. Senate in 2014.
It’s kind of a sad ending for Montana’s Max. I mean he’s accomplished very little in his over 35 years in Washington. His biggest claim to fame and one that may be chiseled on his political tombstone is the sentence, “I don’t think you want me to waste my time to read every page of the health care bill” or “We hire experts.”
Montana’s Max may need to hire several experts if he decides to run for re-election in 2014.
