Montana’s junior Senator, Jon Tester (D-Mont.) along with several of his democratic colleagues defeated a proposal that would have established an earmark moratorium for fiscal years 2011, 2012, and 2013.
The vote, held this morning, was 39 for the ban and 56 against the ban. Five senators did not vote. Eight Republicans voted against the ban; six Democrats voted for the ban.
Senator Max Baucus (D-Mont.) also voted against the ban. Here is the U.S. Senate recorded vote.
