It seems U.S. Senator Max Baucus and Health and Health Secretary Kathleen Sebelius did not get the wonderful reception they were hoping for in Libby, Montana, at their healthcare meeting.
From what I read and heard from sources, there were no parades, no keys to the city presented, or chants of “four more years.”
The Associated Press (AP) covered the meeting and said Baucus and Sebelius were “rebuked.” You can read the story HERE. The story has spread quickly across the web.
Apparently Baucus thought he would be warmly greeted at the event, and it was reported that he was caught “off guard” by some of the questions.
Maybe if Max would get out and about meeting constituents more, he would not have been stumped by their questions.
I happened to see an Obama-themed bumper sticker this morning that basically says what many Americans are thinking these days: OMG WTF. You can see it/order it by clicking HERE. Montanans are probably thinking the same thing about our two Democratic senators who are in lockstep with the President and telling us things are going to be just fine.
While Congressman Rehberg has been across Montana holding over 70 listening sessions, Baucus and Senator Jon Tester have just now started to come out of their holes and meet Montanans, which is mostly due to the pressure from The Western Word and other blogs.
Look for more “rebukes” for these two Senators as summer winds down.
