The NFC West

Today I take a look at the NFC West!

The NFC West is home to the Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, and the St. Louis Rams. They are normally one of the weakest divisions in the NFL. Last year the NFC West won 24 games and lost 40. They finished 4-12 in non-conference games.

San Francisco 49ers:

This is the year the 49ers get over the hump and win the NFC West with a record of 10-6. QB Alex Smith will continue to improve and look for WR Michael Crabtree to have a breakout year as he has a whole training camp behind him.

Seattle Seahawks:

We know that Pete Carroll will bring a new intensity to the Seahawks and that will get them two or three more wins over last year. Sadly, it will take a couple years before Carroll’s Seahawks have more talent than his Trojans did. Look for the Seahawks to finish second in the division with an 8-8 record.

Arizona Cardinals:

The Cardinals won the division last year with a record of 10-6. The year before, they won it with a 9-7 record and made it all the way to the Super Bowl. Kurt Warner is gone, along with wide receiver Anquan Boldin and safety Antrel Rolle. The Cards run is over, too. (6-10).

St. Louis Rams:

This will be a better year for the Rams. They will win two or three games. The Rams drafted Sam Bradford with the first pick of this year’s draft and if the first preseason game is any indication (sacked four times), he won’t last through the first half of the season (3-13).
