Ever have one of those weeks when no matter how much you do, there just seems to be more and more laid upon your plate? Thankfully we have Friday nights, Saturdays, and Sundays! I guess the best thing to do is act like a duck – just remain calm and steady on top, but underneath peddle like the dickens to get the job done.
This week we heard a lot about a Tiger. Some people made dumb remarks. The President made a decision, and those Democrats are trying to give us a healthcare bill. I cover all this and more in this week’s observations.
Matthews:
Ol’ Chris Matthews stuck his foot in his mouth again. This time he even ticked me off.
When the President was giving his speech to the nation from West Point according to the Associated Press Matthews said, “…that President Barack Obama had traveled to an ‘enemy camp’ at West Point to address the nation on the war in Afghanistan.”
His comments bring three things to mind:
First, I am surprised anyone caught it because nobody watches MSNBC.
Second, the Cadets at West Point want leadership – someone they can follow – someone who inspires them. President Obama did not do that with his speech.
Third, Matthews does not even come close to being the fine Americans these Cadets are.
MSNBC should suspend him without pay.
Tiger:
Stupid. He’s no role model, kids. What is it with these high-profile people and cheating? Supposedly Tiger has had some extramarital affairs, and being that he is probably the most well-known man on the planet, how did he ever think he would get away with it?
He has apologized for his “transgressions.”
One of many jokes: Tiger owns several vehicles. Now he has a hole in one.
President’s Speech:
I covered the President’s speech in this commentary. Not much more to add, except to say again, it was poor. I heard he bumped “A Charlie Brown Christmas” on ABC to give the speech. All I can say is, “Good Grief!”
Rehberg has new Website:
Congressman Denny Rehberg has a new campaign website HERE. Nice. It’s a smart move to get one up and running early. Seems the Democrats are trying to throw everything at him, but their two Senators have failed to even come close to Rehberg in meeting with Montana constituents and listening to their concerns.
Healthcare:
The U.S. Senate actually worked on Friday. Majority Leader Harry Reid claims they will work on Saturday and Sunday, too. So far, they have accomplished nothing, which is good for most of America.
I guess spending trillions ($2.5 trillion by some accounts), increasing the cost of healthcare, raising our taxes and expanding the Federal government is a little harder than the Democrats imagined.
That’s it. Catch me on Twitter!
