Welcome to the new home of The Western Word. All the posts from the old Western Word were imported for your viewing pleasure. For those frequent readers, please change your bookmark.
Importing all my old posts will allow my critics the ability to catch me changing my mind! But, it’s my blog so that’s my choice. I have lived long enough to change my mind a time or two (or three).
I’ve been blogging since January of 2005, and decided it would be nice to “rent” this domain name: thewesternword.com
Stop by often. I enjoy politics, sports, music and current events.
THE RULES OF THE WESTERN WORD:
I enjoy comments, but I don’t allow vulgarity and I don’t allow name-calling. These things will get your comment deleted.
I am fan of Classic Rock – and no band is better than REO Speedwagon, period. There will be no debating this. I’ve seen REO live in concert about 20 times (yes, even in Montana) starting when I was 17.
I like the Kansas City Chiefs, and cheer against the Denver Broncos, San Diego Chargers, and the Oakland Raiders, unless they are playing each other and then I cheer against the team that by losing will help my Chiefs (recently, the Chiefs have been horrible, but I still watch).
Religion– I won’t put down your religious preference, so don’t put down mine. I believe that everyone should have a relationship with God, period.
Politics-I am not a member of any political party. I have friends who work for Republicans and Democrats. By reading TWW, you will see which way I lean.
Griz/Cats- I am a fan of both football teams. I went to another University.
Grammar/Punctuation- I don’t count off, nor will I slam you if you make a mistake, so please don’t pick on me. By the way, if you were like me and did not pay attention in High School, I found that several Vo-Techs, Colleges and Universities have staff who get paid to teach these basic skills.
Veterans/Military– I served on active duty for many years and traveled around the world in the military, so these men and women are heroes. A veteran always scores higher with me than non-veterans and wannabes.
Seriously??- Don’t take my posts or comments too seriously, please. I’m one person, and I doubt that I can change the world much from this blog.
Native?- Nope. I made the choice to live here over 20 years ago. The Native Montanan things gets a little old, frankly. Probably got old with Mike Mansfield, too. (Psst, he was born in NY)
No, Jack the Blogger is not my real name. Yes, that is me in that photo in my best western garb! My close friends, family, and associates know who I am.
So lets have fun!
