H.R. 2126

Kudos to Congressman Denny Rehberg for introducing the “Correspondence With Our Heroes Act” a bill that will allow free postage to families and friends of American soldiers serving in combat zones.

The bill was introduced on April 27, 2009.

It’s important for our military personnel to be able to receive packages and correspondence from their friends and family. It gets very expensive sending packages. Hopefully this bill will ease the hardship on the families and friends of those who have loved ones serving in combat zones, and help the morale of the brave men and women who are serving our country.

  1. I don't have any friends or family serving in the military.I believe as an American we should all try to show our support to those who serve.I found a way to say thank you by showing support through letters, cards and pkgs. The past few years I have been active in an organization supporting troops during their tour in combat zones. I use flat rate boxes which help. I had no idea this bill was passed. I think it's great. Military families deserve a break, no matter how small!
Socializm? Pleazze….if our country can support people from other countries giving them tax breaks, medical insurance, education…Should I go on? We need our armed forces & they need some allowances such as "Correspondence With Our Heros Act"….

  2. Wulfgar: Maybe so. Personally I believe the money is better spent on the troops than propping up banks and car companies, not to mention stimulating us with debt. -Jack
