Pioli to the Chiefs

ESPN is reporting that New England Patriots vice president of player personnel, Scott Pioli, will soon be joining the Kansas City Chiefs to become head of football operations (General Manager).

I say, “Yippee!”

The Patriots have been one of the better teams in the NFL for several years getting to the Super Bowl four times and winning three of them. Hopefully Pioli will bring some of that tradition to Kansas City and put the Chiefs back in the playoffs and their winning ways.

  1. Maybe so. This year he had some good help in the middle from the Williams fellows.

  2. Diss my opinion all you want, but you know as well as I that Allen is better in a 3/4 then he is down stance. Just sayin …

  3. I watched the press conference today when they introduced Pioli to the KC media and I was impressed. I hope he does not make a “Jared Allen” mistake, but Allen had a couple of problems off the field that tainted him. Now Larry Johnson has had a couple of those off the field problems, too. We’ll see what they do with Johnson. The Chiefs fans in a poll said Defensive End was the #1 need in the 2009m draft. Allen was a DE. It would have been great to build around him. -Jack

  4. Hopefully, (for you) Pioli will be smart enough not to trade away franchise caliber linebackers like Jared Allen. Personally, I’d like to see the Chiefs continue their personnel woes. Sadly, I think Pioli will help in that department. But you still ain’t got Allen (and for that I am eternally grateful.)
