Ridiculous? Of Course.

Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer and I finally agree on something. The Governor said recently that the talk of him becoming a Vice President candidate with Barack Obama was ridiculous.

I totally agree.

In a recent Associated Press story, the Governor said “nut jobs” on the blogs are keeping his name alive. Ouch. That remark had to hurt the feelings of some of the lefty blogs here in Big Sky Country.

But what about junior Senator Jon Tester’s endorsement that Brian Schweitzer was the greatest thing since sliced bread, and he would make a great Vice Presidential candidate? “It’s ridiculous to even talk about it,” Schweitzer said in the article from the Associated Press.

Exactly. The Tester statement was ridiculous. Tester certainly does not understand national politics.

Face it, the Governor would not hold up to the scrutiny he would receive from the national media. He probably wouldn’t be able to use his flim-flam style with many of the national reporters like he’s done with media here in Montana. The national folks would not be in awe of Schweitzer or probably even his dog. Not at all.

I know it’s hard to imagine if you are a supporter and admirer of the Governor, but just a few miles outside of Montana, nobody knows Brian Schweitzer and, to be quite honest, not too many really care about him.

Schweitzer as VP? Totally ridiculous.
