Poll: 2008 NBA Champion

The teams are set; it’s the Lakers and the Celtics in the NBA finals. If you’ve followed the NBA like me, this brings back fond memories from the past.

It would be great to see Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, Robert Parish, and Danny Ainge suit up and take on Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, James Worthy, and Michael Cooper once again! Hey, how about an old-timers game for charity?

Oh well, there’s always ESPN Classic.

So, this week’s poll question is: Who will win this year’s NBA Championship?

  1. Wulfgar and I agree on something — somebody check the temperature in Hell!Kidding, Wulfgar, kidding!

  2. Right now I’m feeling kinda ‘glass-half full’. The Celtics beat the Pistons. I really was hoping that SA could pull the upset, but LA is just playing fundamentally sound ball. So, I’m picking LA for the upset in the poll (but I hate Kobe enough to pray on behalf of the Celtics). And I’m with David, this is one rivalry I’m glad is back in style.

  3. The Spurs were in an off year. They can’t win titles two years in a row. Watch out for the Spurs next year – if old age does not catch up to them. Thanks for your comments! -Jack

  4. The ONLY time in my life that I enjoyed professional sports at all was back in the 80s, during the Lakers-Celtics rivalry. Once that ended, I lost all interest. The only thing I care about in pro sports now is cheering when the San Antonio Spurs are eliminated from contention.
