The other night, I watched Keith Olbermann from MSNBC (also known the Obama News Network) go off on Hillary Clinton after she made some remarks about the Robert Kennedy assassination in 1968. Clinton was trying to show that democratic primaries have lasted into June in the past. It was not a good example to use, but I really don’t think she was trying to say her opponent might be assassinated and therefore this was the reason she was staying in the race.
Olbermann smelled blood and jumped on it, giving viewers another one of those Special Comments (you know the ones where it looks like his head may explode at any minute because of his anger). But, this Special Comment did not go off with out a hitch.
As Olbermann was a little more than minute and a half into his anger-filled comments toward Clinton, all of a sudden, there was a loud popping sound in the studio when he said, “…to stop you, YOU. Senator…” Olbermann was visibly startled. He blinked. He ducked for cover.
For a moment, I thought Hillary was in the studio and had thrown something at him. The look on Olbermann’s face was worth watching, but that was the only high point in Keith’s Special Comment.
It was the best part of his 10 minute comments. You can view it between 1:35-1:40 on this video:
Meanwhile, Olbermann’s still trailing his nemesis Bill O’Reilly in the ratings: “The O’Reilly Factor was the #1 program in cable news for the 90th consecutive month and saw gains in Total Viewers year-to-year (26%).” Story HERE.
And, Olbermann is irritating almost everyone. More comedy Keith, more comedy!
