Support that Counts

Max Baucus receives most of his campaign money from people who live outside the state of Montana, about 91%. According to a story in the Missoulian:

Almost 91 percent of the money Baucus received from individuals, or $3.45 million, came from out of state, according to figures compiled by the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics.

According to OpenSecrets.org, the top four zip codes Baucus has received the most donations from are in New York.

Today, according to a story in the Billings Gazette, we find out that Congressman Denny Rehberg has raised most of his campaign contributions from people who actually live in the state of Montana, 93%.

Although they are not running for the same seat, Denny Rehberg is by far getting more support from the people that should count the most, Montanans. Voters should take a long look at where Baucus gets his donations, because he was elected to work for Montana, not New York.
