Since the citizens of Helena and Missoula Montana passed war resolutions to bring the troops home from Iraq, I expect the troops to be on their way home by next week at the latest.
Helena and Missoula are now players on the national stage and, more importantly, they are major players in regards to our nation’s national defense. That’s right, National Defense! These people know what’s best, don’t cha think?
I’m sure President Bush and Defense Secretary Gates are already making the calls to the Generals on the ground in Iraq. The notification probably went something like this:
President Bush (on the phone): “Hey General Petraeus, this is George Bush. How’s it going over there?
General Petraeus: “Fine Sir. How are you?”
President Bush: “Hey General, I just want to let you know that Helena, Montana and Missoula, Montana held elections and they placed this thing on the ballot called a referendum.
General Petraeus: “A what Sir?”
President Bush: “A ref-er-en-dum. Anyway, they decided they are against the war. So start packing David, it’s over.”
General Petraeus: “Are you sure you want us to pack up and come home, Sir?”
President Bush: “Yes General, because if that’s what Helena and Missoula Montana voters want, then that’s what we have to do.”
General Petraeus: “Yes Sir. I will comply.”
President Bush: “Thanks David. See you soon. God bless.”
General Petraeus (after hanging up the phone): “Hey guys, GUYS…we’re going home!”

As a life long resident I think maybe it is time play like a rat and jump ship!
It’s good to see that High School Civics classes in these two citys taught the true meaning of a REPUBLIC. What a joke, what did these hippies hope to achieve?
