Ah yes, the weekend was full of sports. The heck with picking up the leaves in the yard or even watching the Republican Presidential debate, there’s football, baseball, and racing to watch!
Montana College Football
The Carroll College Fighting Saints are now 8-0 after beating Eastern Oregon 28-7. Carroll did allow the first touchdown to be scored against them this season. Give the Saints some love!!
The Montana Grizzlies found their offense and rolled over winless Northern Colorado 52-7. The Griz are 7-0 (4-0 Big Sky). The Griz play at Northern Arizona (5-3/4-1) next week. That should be a good game.

Professional Football
I am 9-4 going into the Monday Night game.
One of the better games of the day was the Steelers at the Broncos. The Broncos won the game on a last second 49 yard field goal by Jason Elam 31-28.
Da Bears put together a 97 yard drive with no timeouts to beat the Eagles 19-16.
Rob Bironas kicked an NFL record eight field goals to help the Titans to victory over Houston.
The Chiefs/Raiders game was another classic low scoring game with the Chiefs winning 12-10. The Chiefs, surprisingly, are in first place in the AFC West. A salute to Chiefs RB Priest Holmes for making it back to the field after almost a two year absence.
How about Tom Brady of the Patriots? Six TD passes against the lowly Dolphins. He has 27 TDs this season. The Pats look unstoppable this season, so far.
The New York Football Giants have won five games in a row. The Patriots are undefeated. The Colts are undefeated going into Monday night’s game.
By the way, the New York Giants will play the Miami Dolphins in Wembley Stadium in London next Sunday. This is the first NFL regular-season game ever played in Europe.
Baseball Playoffs
The Boston Red Sox pounded the Cleveland Indians 12-2 Saturday night to force a game seven Sunday night. Then the Red Sox won again on Sunday night 11-2 to head to the World Series against the Colorado Rockies. The World Series starts Wednesday night in Boston. The first two games are in Boston, the next three in Colorado, and the final two are in Boston.
Let’s hope the Rockies have not cooled down any.
Racin’
Jimmy Johnson won again at Martinsville. Jeff Gordon finished third and holds a 53 point lead for the championship. Does the NASCAR season ever end?
