A Hillary Lock? Falling Down

It’s Hillary for President

It seems it was a short Presidential campaign season for the Democrats. Hillary Clinton is running away with the nomination. She did the best of all in tonight’s debate. According to Real Clear Politics, she has an average lead of 16.5% taken from six major polls. These polls were taken from September 12 through September 23.

So, who’s playing for the Vice President’s spot?

Hillary winning the Democratic nomination may be a problem for Montana Democrats, especially Max Baucus, who is up for re-election in 2008. The question will be asked, “Will you support Hillary Clinton for President?” In July, Lee Newspapers ran a story about a poll that showed Montana voters were least likely to support Hillary Clinton (39% Support, 61% Not Support) for President.

Speaking of Max Baucus…

Montanans are probably wondering if Max Baucus is just clumsy or what.

The Associated Press is reporting that Baucus fell down again. He also fell and injured himself in 2003, and then had surgery to relieve pressure on his brain. Then he had a motorcycle accident. Now this.

I know, I know, this is a good spot to insert a joke or something about Max or to comment about his pollution offsets, but I think mean people suck, so I will be nice.

It’s tough being in the limelight all the time. He’s fallen twice and it made the news. I fell the other day, too. I did not issue a press release, though. He had his brain drilled to relieve pressure and that made the news. We all know a joke or two about brains, drilling and politicians. His wife, Wanda, got into a fight at a garden center and that was big news. There are several jokes about that. His pipeline on the appropriations committee, Conrad Burns, is long gone and the money for Montana is drying up. To say the least, it’s been a tough term for Senator Baucus.

Max Baucus is 65 years-old and will be 66 when he runs again. If he’s elected, he’ll be 72 at the end of his term. He’s had health problems, and that is a fact that we’ll all have to look at when we cast our votes in 2008.
