The clock is ticking for the Fiscal Year 2008 Appropriations bills. There are 12 appropriations bills that are “supposed” to be passed by the 1st of October every year.
So far none, zero, zilch have been passed and signed into law. Now it looks like we’ll have one of those things called a “continuing resolution” to keep the government from shutting down.
Maybe the Republicans should let the government shut down.
But the more things change the more things stay the same way. The Republicans also had problems getting all these appropriations bills signed into law when they were in the majority. The democrats vowed to change this and change the way earmarks were done. So far the democrats are batting zero.
