Down, Down, Down…

…and the flames went higher

It appears the new Democratic-controlled congress is going down in flames. According to a new Reuters/Zogby poll released today, Congress has set a new all-time low with a positive rating of just 11%. The President also sent a new low record, with a 29% positive rating. The President is not running again, but I don’t think many on the left understands this.

I believe the problem with the 110th Congress is that every time we turn around, there’s a new scandal in the news. The power of “gotcha politics” is alive and well in D.C. We all know it’s about winning the next election. The democrats hold a congressional hearing in Washington DC about the scandal and so on and on we go. This appears to be getting old with the voters. Plus, we have the Presidential candidates already campaigning in full swing and voters are tired of campaigns starting two years before the election.

In 2006 the democrats ran on the promise to end the war in Iraq. They ran on ethics reform. We’ve seen these promises go unanswered. In many cases, it looks like we’ve let the fox guard the henhouse. The democrats appear drunk on their new found power. It’s like they celebrated their takeover on election night 2006 and have not stopped sipping on the bottle since. PAR-TY

All this is just too much for Mr. and Mrs. Joe Citizen to stomach. Therefore we see the lowest approval ratings ever for a Congress.

But there’s good news! There’s this thing called an election every two years and we can sure make changes and get rid of some of the dead weight that’s hung around for too long.

We’ll sure see if an 11% positive rating in Congress means change is on the horizon.
