Oh yes, it was a good weekend with football and more football. There was High School, College, and Pro. Nice. I even threw in a little NASCAR, Golf, and Indy Car.
I’ve never been too excited about College football in Montana, although I follow it. I like to stick with the big boys in College. I do listen or watch the Cats, the Griz and the Saints some.
The University of Michigan and Notre Dame has some problems. They play each other next week, so for one week one of these teams will be the winner. The Big 12 Conference has some good teams with Oklahoma, Nebraska and Missouri winning. LSU was amazing. USC is, well, USC.
In the Pros, I was impressed with the Patriots and the Colts and the Panthers. The game between the Cowboys and the Giants was fun to watch. Here in Montana, someone in the Fox stations decided I should watch the Seahawks and the Buccaneers. Yuk. I was hoping they would show the Bears at the Chargers. Too bad I dropped NFL Sunday Ticket. I do not like some bozo picking the game he/she wants me to watch.
My Kansas City Chiefs lost (I picked them to lose). They will probably lose against the Bears next week. They are not as bad as the look, but this will not be a good season the Chiefs. I listened to the Chiefs game over the internet and kept up with stats on CBS Sportsline. I managed to keep the chilli I was eating off the keyboard. I don’t know how this will work with ribs. I did manage to drop some chilli on my Chiefs’ shirt, but that’s all part of the season.
Everything takes a backseat the football, but I did manage to watch some of the Indy Car race as it was the final race for the Championship. Scott Dixon was on his way to winning the championship and the race when he ran out of fuel on the last lap. Dario Franchitti won the race and the championship by a mere 13 points. Dario Franchitti is married to Ashley Judd. Ms. Judd, as she should, promotes her hubby big time, but the broadcasters need to stop interviewing her. I am a fan of Dario, not Ashley. Sorry babe. I’ve grown tired of NASCAR and I rarely watch it after football season starts, but I do keep up with the results.
In tennis, Roger Federer won the U.S. Open and in golf, Tiger Woods won the BMW open.
Tonight there are two Monday night games. Very nice. I’m cooking a roast and we’ll have some roast beef sandwiches, some chips and a cool drink. It’s on TV so I won’t have to worry about getting au jus on the keyboard – just on my shirt.
