Larry Craig is fighting to clear his name from the misdemeanor offense of disorderly conduct in the Minneapolis Airport. He’s hired a very good legal team. Since he already plead guilty, it may be tough to do.

If he does clear his name, look for him to fight the Republicans in the Senate and the Bush Administration to stay in office. In regards to this fight, I say go for it.

In his carefully-worded speech on Saturday, Craig said it was his “intent” to resign from the U.S. Senate on September 30.

The Republicans pummeled Larry Craig for about a week. It was all about winning the next election as the Republicans knew if Craig resigned, the Republican Idaho Governor would appoint a Republican to take his place and this person would have a leg up for reelection in 2008.

I mentioned before that if the Republicans won’t support Craig, then he should become an Independent.
