It was announced this morning that Karl Rove, the President’s Deputy Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor, is leaving at the end of the month.
There’s speculation that Rove may help one of the Republican Presidential candidates. Most of the speculation is that he will help Fred Thompson. Maybe he can handle Thompson’s wife as she has been clashing with his campaign team forcing some of them to resign.
Some say Thompson will announce his full-fledged candidacy in September. They also said this in July. I think he’s already peaked.
Rove is probably on the top of the Democrats “most hated” list. He managed to get Bush elected to the Presidency twice. The Democrats have tried and tried to “get him” but they have failed. It’s a common practice to go after the brains of the organization. The Democrats did and they failed. I would not think for a moment they will stop when he’s in the private sector. This is something that the Republican Presidential candidates will have to weigh if they want Rove to work for them: Will Rove’s experience and “brains” outweigh the negative attacks from the Democrats on their campaign? Look to see Rove work “behind the scenes” for Thompson or others.
The Democrats are in a tough position for the next 15 months. The approval ratings in Congress are at an all-time low. Should they continue the course of holding hearing after hearing on what they perceive as corruption in the Bush administration or should they actually govern and do some positive things for the country and get their approval ratings out of the tank? The Democrats have the keys to Congress and so far they have dropped them. Bush is gone in January 2009. He’s not running again and this is not a time to try and impeach him as this will backfire on the Democrats. It’s time for the Democrats to turn positive and since Rove is leaving, they don’t have the “most hated” person to pick on anymore.

I saw this on the news this morning. There is a lot of speculation.>>Great blog!!!>>JJ
