Reprimands coming in Tillman case

ABC News is reporting that seven Army Officers will be reprimanded for mishandling the Pat Tillman friendly fire case. It’s not a done deal yet as the punishment has not been finalized.

Reprimanded? Is that it? Where’s the court martial? Where are the criminal charges?

The Army officials, the Pentagon, and the Bush Administration should not pat themselves on the back about this punishment. It’s not strong enough.

On July 16, I blogged about Pat Tillman and the Bush Administration’s Executive Privilege claim. You can read it HERE.

Officers who receive reprimands suffer more in their careers than enlisted personnel. ABC said these reprimands will be career ending. We’ll see. One three star general may lose a star which will cost him about $1000 per month in retirement pay. I hope every time he gets his pay statement, he thinks of Pat Tillman.
