God bless our military personnel in Iraq. During the Iraqi war, we’ve seen images and news stories that have not been very kind to our U.S. Troops. But recently CBS News did a couple stories about an orphanage that was found in Iraq where special needs children were kept starving and chained to beds.
These soldiers made a difference in 24 Iraqi children’s lives.
First story: “Iraqi Orphanage Nightmare”
Second Story: “Lesson From Home Helped Orphan Rescue”
It’s sad that the Iraqi government can’t take care of their children, especially those who cannot take care of themselves. The photos (images) are very sad.
Congratulations to Lt. Jason Smith, who’s unit led the rescue. We’re proud of what you are doing Lt. Smith.
Thanks to CBS’ Chief Foreign Correspondent Lara Logan for this report.
