It’s about jobs, jobs, jobs…
It was announced today that there will be 150 new jobs “somewhere” in Montana courtesy of the work done by U.S. Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., with General Electric.
That is good news for Montana and for Sen. Baucus’ reelection campaign (if he really needed much help to win).
Speaking of campaigns…
The Montana Democratic Party has a nice new website up and running. Very nice. By the way, the old one was better than the Montana Republicans’ and this one places them further out front.
The Montana Democrats also have a brand new campaign complaint against the Steve Daines, who runs the website, GiveItBack.com, saying it’s a phony front group for a campaign.
Not to be out done, the Montana Republicans filed a complaint about the trip Governor Schweitzer took to the Kentucky Derby.
Good grief. I think the bottom line on all these “complaints” and firing off press releases attacking candidates and office holders is that Montanans are getting really tired of the political atmosphere in this state. It’s nasty. Some folks who don’t follow politics very much may decide not to vote or vote for a third-party candidate.
If they don’t start actually debating some of the issues and play nicer, they may find themselves living in a van down by the river. Each party should be given a timeout by the voters in 2008.
Here comes Mitt…
I see where Mitt Romney will be coming to Montana for the GOP convention. I’d like to see Hillary come to Montana and we can work on some lyrics for some campaign songs.
Welcome to Washington…
U.S. Sen. Jon Tester, D-Mont., told the Billings Gazette that in regards to energy costs that “anything we do (in the short term) won’t make the difference of a nickel.”
Well, that just sucks.
Maybe Matt Foley could give the junior senator a motivational speech?
“We-e-e-elll.. la-de-freakin’-da!”
