Debates, Thompson, Gore, Clinton

What if we held a presidential debate and nobody showed up…
It looks like the democrats are boycotting the debate that is scheduled to be held by Fox News this fall.
The only person who says he will show up is Joe Biden. Edwards, Clinton, Obama, Richardson and Dodd have all decided to skip it.
The co-sponsor of the debate is the Congressional Black Caucus.
It appears there’s pressure from the lefties to boycott Fox because they lean to the right. A funny thing is that these candidates will need some of the righties’ votes to become President if they make it to the General Election.
It’s also a slap in the face of the Congressional Black Caucus by the democratic contenders.

Fred Thompson: The next Reagan…
Well, maybe not. But there are some reports that Fred Thompson will enter the Presidential race in July. He seems more like a Reagan Republican than many of the other candidates. I’ll miss him on Law and Order. If elected, it would be great if he could wrap up some of the issues facing this country in an hour like he does on Law and Order. If elected, I suggest Thompson appoint Jack McCoy (Sam Waterston) as his Attorney General. There also has to be room in the Thompson Cabinet for Jamie Ross (Carey Lowell) and Abbie Carmichael (Angie Harmon).

Al Gore: Yes or no…
Al Gore was a guest on Countdown the other night and he did not rule out a run for President. But maybe he feels he can sell more books if he puts off making a decision for a few months. He may feel that people would rather interview a possible Presidential candidate than an author.

Hillary: Pick my campaign theme song
I received another e-mail today from the Clinton campaign asking me to participate in the final round of her campaign song contest. I stayed with my initial selection, Beautiful Day by U2. The winner will be announced soon. I have to tip my hat to Hillary for doing this; it is a great campaign tool.
