Nothing is better than the day before a three day weekend. It’s a very casual dress Friday and people are looking for reasons to get out of work and head out for the weekend. It’s the start of summer.
Stay tuned to The Western Word (TWW) for my Memorial Day post.
Gas prices are around $3.18 per gallon here in Big Sky country. My neighbor has a fifth-wheel camping trailer hooked up and ready to go. Problem is, he’ll need to rob a bank to pay for the gas if he goes very far. TWW thought the democrats would have this problem solved already.
We’re in the doghouse now…
Speaking of the democrats, blogs across the country are calling them traitors, cowards, and these are just the words that I can list that are “G” rated. I’ve seen Montana’s “Dynamic” Democrat Duo (MDDD) in the senate, Max Baucus and Jon Tester, roasted in some of the posts.
Other bloggers are turning in their “D” Cards for an Independent one.
The house of cards is falling down right in front of their eyes less than six months into the new majority; the democrats have failed their base supporters and the left leaning bloggers will have nothing of it. Today’s Democratic talking points tell us that they have just begun to fight and the debate has just started. Maybe someone should tell Reid and Pelosi that the American people are already tired of this fight, their endless hearings dealing with partisan politics and Americans want to see some bills passed that deal with energy, immigration, healthcare, national debt, etc.
Nonetheless, the House of Representatives have patted themselves on the back and are taking a 12 day vacation, returning on June 5. After some more debate on immigration today, the Senate returns on June 4. Those who head “home” for the vacation will undoubtedly hear some thoughts about the immigration amnesty bill and if you are a democrat, you’ll surely hear (and maybe be called some names) about your vote for the war funding bill.
Speaking of what’s happening in regards to my Montana delegation, we’ve still not seen Sen. Baucus and Congressman Denny Rehberg, R-Mont., post their schedules on their official websites. I’d like to see it happen. In regards to Sen. Tester, his schedules are posted a few days late, so we’d like to see it posted sooner, but it still is interesting reading.
Loggins = Jesus?
Remember Kenny Loggins? I saw him in concert way back in the late 70s. I was in the crowd on a very hot summer day with about 50,000 other people for a Summer Jam at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City and here’s Loggins singing. He has a jacket on and it’s 98 degrees outside. He decided to take the jacket off and throw it into the crowd. He swings it around and around and lets it fly. It hit me across the neck and I grabbed hold. At the same time, about 500 other people in the immediate area decided they wanted the jacket and jumped on me and we fought and fought for Kenny’s jacket. I lost the jacket, but was able to breath again after everyone got off of me.
Anyway, Loggins is a singer/songwriter who had some hits like Footloose, What a Fool Believes, I’m Alright, This is it, Danger Zone, etc. Ironically, I heard an announcer on the radio the other day say that Kenny Loggins looks a lot like Jesus. That’s a fair comparison, especially when Loggins had longer hair.
But what made me giggle was the announcer saying what Jesus may be singing when we get to Heaven: “This is it…make no mistake where you are…this is it.”

[Ed McMahon voice] I did not know that. [/Ed McMahon voice]>>Thanks for clearing that up.
Hey Randy,>It was written by Kenny Loggins and Michael McDonald. McDonald is with the Doobie Brothers. Same song.
“What a Fool Believes?”>>I thought that was the Doobie Brothers?
