Derby, Pope, Bonds, and Fort Dix

And down the stretch they come…
Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer attended the Kentucky Derby on Saturday for a fundraiser.
I’m sure the Republicans will have something to say about it, but who really cares? Politicians attend fundraisers. Everyone does it. That’s what makes the political world go round. Besides, it did not cost the taxpayers a dime as it was paid for the Democratic Governors Association.
The Western Word wonders if the Governor met the Queen.
But, the most interesting thing about the whole story is that it took the media in Montana a few days to figure out that Montana’s governor attended the Kentucky Derby. Geez. I guess the reason for it taking so long is the Governor probably did not send them a press release with all the details.

The Pope speaks about abortion and politicians…
It looks like Pope Benedict has warned politicians that they risk excommunication from the Church and should not receive communion if they support abortion.
I guess the Pope is telling Pro-Choice politicians they should make a choice.

Schilling talks about Bonds…
Boston Red Sox pitcher, Curt Schilling, talked about Barry Bonds yesterday on a radio program saying Bonds admitted using steroids, cheating on his wife, cheating on taxes, etc.
The truth is that Bonds hasn’t admitted to any of these things and there’s no proof that he has used steroids, cheated on his wife, cheated on taxes, etc.
Schilling was just running his mouth and his mouth was spewing crap that had no facts behind it. Bonds must have taken Schilling out of the park a few times.
Anyway, Bonds hit number 745 last night. So take that, Curt.

One drove a cab…
…three were roofers. Another worked at a 7-Eleven and a sixth at a supermarket. Three of the six were in the country illegally. They were busted by a video store clerk. More details are emerging about the six people arrested for the terror plot at Fort Dix.
