At first look, The Western Word (TWW) feels Mitt Romney came out of the debate as the winner tonight. He came across as more Presidential than the rest of the group.
John McCain showed some strong leadership with his stand against pork and to keep fighting the war since it had been mismanaged until recently. His answer about terrorism and the war was a classic McCainism, “…I will follow bin Laden to the gates of hell.”
Rudy Giuliani answered some tough questions (like what’s the differences between the Shias and Sunnis?) and came across pretty well.
TWW feels at the finish line it was:
1. Mitt Romney
2. John McCain
3. Rudy Giuliani
So, we have the top three basically finishing in the top three. They all showed electability. It’s a long campaign. Fred Thompson is probably warming up his plane.
The rest of the candidates were far behind. I believe it was Tommy Thompson who did not know how many Americans had died in Iraq or how many were wounded. That was a question everyone knew would be asked. He also said he vetoed, “1900 things” as governor of Wisconsin. I believe those “things” are called bills.
So, who should be voted off the island?
1. Tommy Thompson
2. Ron Paul
3. Tom Tancredo
