Saturday’s Potpourri

That’s gonna leave a mark…
Ouch! Be careful out there!
But hey, at least THIS did not happen…

Comparing apples to oranges and wishful thinking…
Yep, many of us would enjoy the race between U.S. Senator Max Baucus, D-Mont., and Congressman Denny Rehberg, R-Mont.
But, it was interesting how some headlines differed although they are raising money for two different races (at this time):
Great Falls Tribune (AP) (on-line Friday): “Baucus fundraising dwarfs Rehberg’s”
Billings Gazette (Saturday): “Rehberg’s fundraising at record-setting pace”
Helena IR (Saturday): “Rehberg reports $76,000 raised in 2007”
Montana Standard (AP) (Saturday): “Baucus fundraising dwarfs Rehberg dollars”
Montanans would be better served if there were at least a couple of reporters who understood politics as well as military and veterans issues.

Just marbles in a jar…
A STORY in today’s Great Falls Tribune gave me a laugh early this morning over coffee.
Stay with me on this one: In the Montana State Legislature, each marble represents a million dollars…and if you throw in a handful of marbles in the jar it does not matter…
OK, now is the time for the joke about losing all their marbles…
The circus is winding down in Helena. Has the paper towel bill passed yet?
