There has been a lot of baseball games postponed this year because of bad weather. In Cleveland, they cancelled games four days in a row because of snow.
Some “experts” believe they should shift these games to warm weather cities or cities where they have domes early in the season.
Domes? The Western Word (TWW) believes football and baseball should never be played in a dome or on fake grass, but that’s for another day.
TWW contends that the Major League Baseball season is way too long (162 games). This season started April 2 and the regular season ends September 30. Then the playoffs start, so add another two-three weeks.
It would be better if the season started around May 15 and ended around September 15. Cut the number of games played down to around 100. Baseball gets boring with so many games. Most people lose interest with a season so long. You miss a game or two and then you figure it does not matter and you just check the standings every week to see how your team is doing.
Almost everyone contends that Major League Baseball takes a back seat to the National Football League starting in September. It does with me.
If they cut the season down to 100 games, then the “Boys of Summer” would really be the Boys of Summer instead of the Boys of spring, summer and autumn.
