There’s a little more to the story about U.S. Senator Jim Webb, D-Va, today and his aide, Phillip Thompson, who was arrested for trying to bring a gun and ammo into the U.S. Senate.
Monday was Phillip Thompson’s 45th birthday. Ouch.
Supposedly, Thompson claims the gun and magazines belonged to Sen. Webb. Sen. Webb contends he did not give Mr. Thompson the gun and ammo.
But, did Sen. Webb give the gun and ammo to another staffer to take care of who maybe passed it off to Thompson? Also, did Thompson know he was in possession of a gun and ammo before he tried to go through security?
Also, what is the jail time for a conviction like this in Washington, D.C.?
There are more questions than answers so far. Maybe we’ll find out on May1.
