Changing their tune…
Looks like it did not take many of the new freshmen U.S. Senators to determine it was in their best interests to start their own Political Action Committees (PACs) according to this STORY. Nine of the 11 new freshman senators are starting PACs.
Yep, this includes Montana’s Junior Senator, Jon Tester, D-Mont., who is in the process of starting his “Treasure State PAC” although during the campaign he proclaimed on his campaign website under campaign finance that, “Jon Tester believes that money has far too much influence in government today…”
My, how one’s tune changes when you get to Washington.
The Western Word (TWW) wonders if this is a record for a new U.S. Senator to start a PAC this early after being elected? I’ll bet it is for a Montana Senator.
TWW understands that this is completely legal to do, but will it play well in Montana?
Here, take my bag….
If it was not so stupid, it would be funny, but the STORY about the staffer of freshman U.S. Senator Jim Webb, D-Va., getting caught trying to take a loaded gun (and ammo) through senate security caught my eye this morning. The gun and ammo belonged to the Senator. Both the staffer and Sen. Webb have, “a lot of splainin to do.”
Having a bad day (month, year, etc.)…
First, it was the hunting violation in October. Then there was the DUI in March. Now he was cited for expired license plates on his vehicle according to this STORY. Montana Rep. Scott Boggio, R-Red Lodge, is having a tough time recently. Maybe there should be “a three strikes and you’re out” rule in the Montana Legislature?
