The Battle of the O’s

OK, I’ll admit it. I watch Bill O’Reilly’s show called “The O’Reilly Factor” on Fox News. Although I watch O’Reilly, lately he has caused me to surf the channels. I have been watching Keith Olbermann’s show called “Countdown” on MSNBC.

Before I get into this battle, let me take a moment to comment on O’Reilly’s show last night.
I caught the interview between O’Reilly and Montana State Senator Gary Perry about Jessica’s Law. It lasted for about three minutes. Perry was not ready for Bill O’Reilly. Perry seemed as nervous as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs. He kept checking his notes during the interview. He tried to say that O’Reilly had offended Montanans by pointing out that Montana had not passed Jessica’s law. Montana has not passed it, so no offense taken by this Montanan, Bill. That did not go too far with O’Reilly. I am sure State Senator Perry is a nice fellow just trying to do what is right, but these state legislators who decide to go on a national TV program should prepare a little better.
Nonetheless, Jessica’s Law is a great thing and I commend State Senator Perry for supporting it. I am sure Montana will pass it. By the way, the video is on O’Reilly’s web site.

Now, back to the battle of the O’s:

There’s a long-time feud between these O’Reilly and Olbermann and it is great TV. A show hardly goes by without one of them taking a hit from the other. O’Reilly even started a petition to get Phil Donohue back in Olbermann’s time slot on MSNBC. Olbermann counters with making O’Reilly his “worst person in the world” a few times. It’s funny.

Olbermann’s show is trailing O’Reilly’s in viewers. Olbermann recently signed a new contract with MSNBC and he comes from the left, but he presents the top five stories of the day with a bit of humor. O’Reilly’s show is very highly rated and comes from the right.

No matter which one you watch, the feud between these two gentlemen makes for great TV. For me, I will watch both.
