The week before the Superbowl would be a great opportunity to go check out some of those HD TVs on the market! The stores that sell TVs know the Superbowl is on the way and they are trying to get you to buy a new one for the big game.
I have a 27” Sony TV. I like Sony TVs. I am on my second one. In fact, I am a TV junkie. I own six TVs – but only one Sony (it is used in the family room).
They will almost all be on during the game. I even use a little portable black and white TV for the bathroom because during the Superbowl, you don’t want to miss a commercial. I told you I am a junkie…
I had a 19” Sony way back in 1985. It lasted about 12 years. Then I purchased the 27” Sony that I have now.
I was so excited to bring that 27” TV home. Buying a TV is kind of like fishing except you do your “fishing” at a store. You use money for bait. The more “bait” you have, the bigger the “fish” you can catch.
I purchased the 27” Sony and brought it home in my old car. The TV was worth more than the car I was driving back then. I took the box out of the car and took it in the house. I opened the box with great anticipation. The top of the TV was cracked. I mean there was a two inch crack across the top of the TV! I was shocked. I called the store and they believed me that it was cracked when I opened the box. There was one problem though. They did not have any more Sony 27” TVs left, so I had to wait for another week to get one.
I clean the glass on the Sony TV for special events like the Superbowl. I have the TV hooked up through my stereo so I can hear it like I am in a theater. I’d like to purchase a Home Theater system one of these days to get the ultimate experience. I’ll probably go with a Sony system.
Of course, watching the Superbowl is not complete without some good food and some drinks. I like to have some Lil’ Smokies which are kind of like Vienna sausages. You slow cook the Lil’ Smokies in KC Masterpiece BBQ sauce. You can’t go wrong with ribs either. Some deviled eggs are a must. Maybe some Chilli! Beer is another thing that is a must, but wine is OK, too. Anyway, if you are fortunate enough to have that brand new flat screen TV to watch the game, congratulations! Enjoy the game.
